An outstanding New Year’s Gathering was held on Thursday, January 3 from
7 t0 9 PM at Café Beethoven on Main St. in Chatham. Many members of
Women Who Write and a few prospective members attended this event
chaired by Karen Haefelein, President. It was a wonderful social
occasion, giving everyone a chance to mingle not only with their own
writing group, but getting to meet people from other writing groups as
well.
Helping Karen with set-up were Lisa Versaggi, Treasurer, Maggie

Bernardsville Library
Bernardsville, NJ

Sunday, October 28, 2007 found some members of Women Who Write at the Bernardsville Library sharing a cup o’joe and lively conversation while reveling in the talent of a cross-section of their members at the group’s Fall Reading.
The Fall Reading was emceed by Programs Chair, Maggie Roycraft who introduced each of the fourteen writer/readers, with a flare and style all her own. The readers, poets, story-tellers and memoirists among them, represented a true picture of what Women Who Write has become. Attracting women writers from all walks of life and experience, Women Who Write boasts a variety of members and a wide range of writing, from poetry to memoir to non-fiction and fictional works. --- Marie Ascolese Castonuovo

Chase Room, Madison Library
A Coordinator’s Roundtable meeting was held on September 29 at the Chase Room of the Madison Library. There were representatives from 14 of our 16 groups. Also present were Karen Haefelein, Terry Mullany, Joanne Flynn Black. Refreshments were available.
Each coordinator had an opportunity to tell about their groups, who needed members, and how the Liaison can help with situations that have arisen in a few groups. One of the topics discussed was the possibility of combining small groups who had lost members over the summer. Most of the groups have openings for new members. It was a lively meeting and brought about a greater understanding of Women Who Write by many of the coordinators.
Karen discussed the new Guidelines for Writing Groups.
